Who We Are

The City of Cleveland administration recently got re-elected with a team of young politicians who don't like the website that represents their city and are not satisfied with the value it provides to its citizens. They are planning to revamp their website in a way that provides value to its citizens and is aesthetically beautiful. Consider that the design team has come up with the following Design Specs, follow the specs and create a high fidelity Homepage design for the website.

Current Website and Pain Points

PAIN POINTS:
 

  • Same headings repeated in navigation menu, sidebar, and footer.

  • Text-heavy website body with minimal visual elements.

  • Header images lack interactivity and cannot be enlarged.

  • Insufficient use of icons and visuals.

  • Ineffective placement of search bar and language/translate options.

  • Suboptimal design and position of "Top of Page" button.

Competitor Analysis

  • Organized content with cards/banners

  • Combined text, visuals, and icons in the website body

  • Detailed menu navigation for information hierarchy

  • Attractive onboarding experience

Opportunities: Redesign Scope

  • Visual design language, user flow, and information hierarchy will be completely revamped.

  • Left Side Bar: Mayor, Press & Media, Forms & Applications, Frequently Asked Questions, Cleveland City Council, Most Requested.

  • Right Side Bar: Latest Updates, Emergency Contacts, Social Media Links.

  • Footer: Contact Us, Quick Action Links (report problem/raise a request, services, quick payments), and Site Links.
